Sendiens can regenerate themselves using small storage devices filled with ''empty data''.
When a sendien gets their shell damaged they may lose a bit of themselves if there's any air leaking inside.
A sendien can store ''core memories'' inside of a special vault inside their shells, which, in case of death, can be used to ''reincarnate'' them into a new being.
Sendiens who consume random data, usually passed around in data sticks. The act of suddenly injecting random files into a sendien's organism can make them disoriented and energetic, which gives them a feeling similar to being high. This behaviour can evolve to a much more destructive degree, where sendiens start consuming each other, hungry for more and more data.
This has adverse effects, since consuming other sendiens data can cause the sendiens to ''fuse'', in a way, making the host start to experience foreign memories, hear voices inside their minds, and sometimes become confused and lost.
Not knowing which memories are their own, they start to lose themselves, eventually becoming something resembling a feral animal. Sendiens who reach that state tend to not survive for long, seeing as their volatility causes them to get in fights constantly.
Sendiens consume themselves to keep their shells powered up. In the beginning, this would lead to them having constant memory loss, but then they developed empty data, which could be consumed instead of their own memories.
